Registration is now open for the 2027 World Seagrass Conference (WSC2027) and the 16th International Seagrass Biology Workshop (ISBW16).

All participants, including abstract presenters, must register online through our online registration portal. Please review the categories, inclusions, and travel guidance below.

Registration Categories and Fees

Following are the categories and rates. ISBW16 contributes 1% of all registration revenue to verified carbon removal projects through Stripe Climate.

School and University students may attend on a complimentary basis, subject to prior approval by the Organising Committee. Meals will be provided during their visit; transport and supervision must be arranged by the academic institution.

Invitation Letters

Once registration is complete, participants who require an official invitation letter for purposes of obtaining  a visa and/or a speaker permit may request one via email to isbw16@ead.gov.ae. Further details will be provided upon registration and/or notification of acceptance as a presenter.

  • Official travel partner: Details of an official travel partner and any preferential rates will be announced when they are available.
  • Early-career travel support: Opportunities will be available for eligible applicants during registration.

Terms and Conditions

Registration for ISBW16 and WSC2027 is confirmed only once full payment has been received.

Participants may pay by credit card or bank transfer. If paying by bank transfer, participants are responsible for any charges applied by their own bank. Once a transfer is received and reconciled, registration will be marked as paid.

Cancellations and Substitutions: Substitutions are permitted until 19 February 2027. Cancellations before this date will be refunded minus a 20% administrative fee. Cancellations after 19 February 2027 are nonrefundable. Visa issues do not qualify for refunds.

Liability: Participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements and insurance. The Organising Committee is not liable for loss, injury, or damage during the event. The conference may be photographed or recorded for official use.

Data & Privacy: Personal information collected during registration is used solely for event administration, communication, and programme planning, including payment processing, issuing invoices and receipts, managing attendance, and providing essential event updates.
